Are nursing sleep shirts worth the money?

So I am 9 1/2 months pregnant with my second child, and with my first (even though I breast fed for one year) I was very unprepared and lazy about it. I really would like to be prepared this time. I was going to buy nursing tops but I think they’re such a waste of money, since most of them are hideous and I can always use a regular lower cut top. Anyways, about a week ago I spent over $100 on pajamas because I realized that the pajamas I have been wearing are over 2 years old! Although, the tops that I bought are not low enough to pull down to breast feed. Remembering how things were with my first daughter, I was pretty much topless all of the time because it was too inconvenient to keep pulling up my night shirt to breast feed. I honestly don’t know what to do now; i’d like to have at least a couple nursing tops for sleeping in, but I don’t want to waste the tops I already bought. Help?

I would invest in some nursing tank tops. They are functional for sleeping or wearing during the day under another shirt and fairly inexpensive ($20 or so). I like them because they offer support without being constricting, as I have found many nursing bras to be. They also cover your tummy when you nurse which is nice to stay a little warmer and not feel so exposed if you nurse while out and about. I would hold off on wearing your nice new pajamas until your baby is older- if your baby is anything like mine are your fancy pjs will be wrecked with spit up, pee, you name it!
